Reece James is said to be high on Carlo Ancelotti’s list of summer transfer objectives for Real Madrid. In both of Chelsea’s Champions League games against La Liga this month, the right-back shone.

James’ performances were analyzed by Real’s scouting department, and the club will now make a summer move for the England international. According to some sources, Real has seen James at least nine times this season in preparation for a possible move.

Ancelotti is looking to revamp his squad, and he believes the Blues’ defender is the best fit. Real Madrid are looking to replace Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez at the right-back position. They will, however, have to unload numerous players before they can bring in any new players.

Real are aware that James will be expensive, but they believe the 22-year-old can still improve. James came up through the Chelsea ranks and has made 31 appearances this season in all competitions, scoring six goals and assisting seven times.

Word from Ancelotti

Meanwhile, after a 3-2 comeback win over Sevilla on Sunday, Ancelotti’s squad moved 15 points ahead of the table. The 62-year-old was blown away by his team’s comeback, saying: “It’s a very important win after a first half that wasn’t good. The second half was spectacular for us. We showed commitment, personality, and courage from all the players.”

‘We’re getting used to this because this team is capable of special things. We haven’t lost confidence at 2-0 down and the games against PSG and Chelsea have helped us to believe we can come back.”

“Everyone is waiting for Madrid to slip, but this team doesn’t do it, because they have heart, character, and personality. We haven’t won the league yet, but we’ve given it a good push with this win.”
