Redmi Turbo 4: Redmi GM Teases Launch This Month

Last month, Redmi launched the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro in China, which created quite a buzz in the smartphone industry. That said, the brand appears ready for another big launch in its native market, with rumors suggesting a new Turbo-branded model is incoming. Redmi General Manager Wang Teng Thomas teased a new launch in a teaser video, using the words “Little Tornado” — likely referring to the upcoming Redmi Turbo 4.

Redmi GM Teases Launch of Turbo 4 with Dimensity 8400 This Month

The designation “Little Tornado” points to Redmi Turbo 4 series being what the device in question will possibly come under and it is expected to launch this month. The Dimensity 8400 chipset will be the world’s first on this phone and fabricated on TSMC 4nm. Notably, the chipset will also have a Cortex-A725 large-core architecture with a CPU clock speed exceeding 3GHz. The Immortalis-G925 MC12 also uses the same GPU architecture as the Dimensity 9400.

The MediaTek Dimensity 8400 has a listed Antutu score of over 1.7 million, meaning it’ll likely outperform Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in pure speed. Redmi Turbo 4 may come with a flat OLED display, taking the resolution up to 1.5K, which is sure to make the viewing experience better. The 3C certification also suggests that the device will support 90W fast charging. Pricing is anticipated to be between 1,500 Yuan ($205) and 2,000 Yuan ($275), which positions the Turbo 4 as an affordable yet high-performance option for consumers.

Additionally, there are reports suggesting that Redmi may unveil a higher-end model, the Turbo 4 Pro, in the coming year. This version is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset, and globally, these devices may be rebranded as the Poco X7 and Poco F7, respectively.
