Redmi Note 9 5G will soon get discontinued in China, Note 10 and 11 Series will replace it

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, is soon going to discontinue the Redmi Note 9 5G in China. Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group China and GM of the Redmi brand, yesterday posted on Weibo announcing that the Redmi Note 9 5G will soon be discontinued in China. It will be replaced by the Redmi Note 10 and Note 11 series.

The discontinuation process of the Redmi Note 9 5G will be done after November 11’s Singles Day sale. For those unfamiliar, Singles Day is a Chinese unofficial holiday and shopping season that’s not unlike America’s Black Friday.

Although, there is no information mentioned that which model is going to discontinue it’s most likely to be Redmi Note 9 5G (Mi 10i). There is also no information about other Note 9 series phones but they can also be discontinued soon.

Redmi Note 9 5G was launched with MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G Octa-core processor while the GPU was Mali-G57 MC3. The rear camera consists of triple camera: 48 MP (wide) + 8 MP (ultrawide) + 2 MP (macro) sensor lenses. The front camera had a 13 MP sensor. The smartphone was fueled by a Non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery and a fast battery charging 18W.

The device comes with 6.53 inches size and the display was IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The display resolution was 1080 x 2400 pixels and the PPI density was 403. The device was equipped with sensors such as Fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.

While the smartphones taking their place are Note 10 and 11 series. The Redmi Note 11 Pro comes with a larger battery with a 5,160mAh capacity. Under the hood, the device is powered by MediaTek Dimnensity 920 – the same as the Pro Plus variant. Further, in terms of camera, the Redmi Note 11 Pro sports a 108MP main camera (HM2), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP telemacro sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP shooter. Note 11 Pro and Pro Plus have approx the same specs rather than the battery.
