Xiaomi introduced the first version of its Redmi A27U monitor without a USB Type-C port in August 2020, and a new model is now available. The monitor now also lets users hook up their laptops or any other compatible device directly to the monitor through the USB Type-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. This is especially important for the neat freak in you as it means not having to use any additional cables.

The All New Redmi Monitor A27U Type-C Version and C500 Dual-Camera

The new Redmi A27U is still very good in terms of specifications, with a 4K resolution (3,840 × 2,160), an aspect ratio of 16:9 screen a 60 Hz refresh rate, and a response time of 6 ms. It comes with an IPS panel that delivers accurate and vibrant colors, covering 95% of DCI-P3 and 100% of sRGB color spaces. The monitor is now selling at 1,399 CNY (around $200) in China and there has not been an announcement for International release as of yet.

In related news, Xiaomi has also unveiled its first Mini LED gaming monitor, the Mini LED Gaming Monitor G Pro 27i. It has a 27-inch display that offers a QHD resolution (2560 x 1440), along with a 180Hz refresh rate, 1 ms response time, and AMD FreeSync technology to offer you an immersive experience during gaming. That includes a Mini LED backlight with 1,152 local dimming zones, up to 1,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.

Additionally, Xiaomi has introduced the Smart Camera C500 Dual-Camera Edition, which features a dual-lens setup for enhanced home monitoring. The camera includes a wide-angle 4MP fixed lens with a 110° field of view and a 4MP PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) lens with a 58° field of view, allowing for broader coverage and zoom capabilities.

The C500 also incorporates AI features for dual detection of humans, pets, and crying babies, alongside a “virtual fence” feature for movement alerts. It will be available for crowdfunding on June 10th for 319 yuan (around $47 USD), with an official retail price of 349 yuan (approximately $52 USD).
