Redmi K80 Series Launch Set for Last Week of November; Display Details Unveiled
The Redmi K80 series will feature top specs 2K resolution displays with full brightness DC dimming, Xiaomi’s Qingshan Eye Care, and circular polarisation technology. The displays were created in collaboration with Sun Yat-sen University Zhongshan Eye Center and TCL Huaxing. According to a Weibo post, the handsets will be available in China by the last week of November. The displays will also feature TÃœV Rheinland’s triple certification as well as peak global brightness levels of 1,800 nits. Both smartphones will come with in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensors as well.
These new panels will be an upgrade over the displays on the Redmi K70 series. Xiaomi is also claiming that the K80 series screens will be 20.3% more power-efficient, which means they can achieve higher brightness with less power consumption. The displays will also have a dedicated gaming mode for a smoother gameplay experience.
Xinxin Mia, Product Manager of Xiaomi, revealed that the Redmi K80 series will come standard with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. The K80 series will feature a different look than the K70 models, providing a new-style appearance. Also, a decoy information on Geekbench of the Redmi K80 Pro filled in the gaps that suggested that it could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset alongside offering up to 16GB RAM. That means the K80 series will retain its potent performance, as well as its display.
