Redmi 12 5G Set to Make Its India Debut on August 1: Expectations and Features

The upcoming Redmi 12 5G is expected to showcase a crystal glass design with elegantly curved edges and chrome camera rings on the back. It will be available in two color options: Black and Moonstone Silver, featuring captivating rainbow hues. Xiaomi boasts that the Redmi 12 5G will offer the largest screen ever seen on a Redmi smartphone.

The company has revealed some key features of the phone, including a powerful 50MP camera equipped with film filters. While the exact details about the processor were not disclosed, Xiaomi did confirm that the device will come with 8GB of RAM and an additional 8GB of virtual RAM, offering a total of 16GB RAM capacity. Storage-wise, the phone will provide 256GB of internal space and will be powered by a sizable 5,000mAh battery. The Redmi 12 5G has been made available on Amazon’s listing as well.

Although Xiaomi has kept many aspects of the upcoming smartphone under wraps, tipster Abhishek Yadav has provided some insights into the device’s specifications. According to the tipster, the Redmi 12 5G will feature a generous 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz screen refresh rate and a peak brightness of 550nits.

Under the hood, it will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with Adreno 613 GPU, LPDDR4x RAM, and UFS 2.2 storage. The device will operate on Android 13 OS and boasts a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18-watt fast charging technology.

Regarding the camera setup, the tipster indicates that the Redmi 12 5G is expected to feature a dual rear camera configuration with 50MP + 2MP lenses and a 5MP front-facing camera. With a weight of 199 grams and a slim profile of 8.17mm, the phone is expected to offer additional features such as Wi-Fi 5 support, an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
