According to recent rumours, Redfall will be released on May 2, 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Whether or not this rumour is true, fans are likely to learn Redfall’s release date at the upcoming Xbox Bethesda Developer Direct. Since the Game Awards in December, Xbox has been rumoured to be hosting its own showcase, and following these and a report by Windows Central, Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Bethesda Developer Direct will take place on January 25.
Fans have clear expectations, knowing that they will learn more about Redfall, Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport, and The Elder Scrolls Online. Meanwhile, a dedicated gameplay showcase for Starfield will be released at a later date.
The rumour was spread by Twitter user eXtas1s, who previously leaked information about Hideo Kojima’s Project Overdose. It should be noted that many fans believe Hideo Kojima’s Xbox cloud game is the same as the Project Overdose rumours, but this has not been confirmed. So, take this with a grain of salt, but luckily, fans will find out whether or not this rumour is true by the end of the month.
However, eXtas1s appears to be quite confident in this Redfall rumour, implying that they have 100% confirmed it, but it’s best to wait until we hear it from the horse’s mouth.
It should be noted, however, that this rumour is consistent with previous Redfall rumours. Starfield and Redfall are expected to launch on Xbox Game Pass in the first half of 2023, though recent rumours suggest that Redfall has been internally delayed (that is, goalposts have been moved without public acknowledgement) by about six weeks. Some speculated that it would be released in the first half of 2023, but a May release date could lend credence to that rumour as well.
Redfall is in development for PC and Xbox Series X.
