## Why Did Marvel Make the Switch?

Marvel hasn’t explained, so here are the two most likely theories.

**1. Separating two teams.** The Fox-era X-Men return in *Doomsday*, while the 2028 reboot features new versions of some of the same characters played by different actors. A different logo avoids confusion, so nobody assumes the reboot shows younger versions of the *Doomsday* heroes.

**2. A comics nod.** In classic *Uncanny X-Men* comics, the team wore gold and blue suits with a red and black belt. A red accent could be a tribute to one of the most beloved designs.
