The Red Magic 9 Pro series, unveiled in China, marks the latest gaming smartphone lineup from the Chinese manufacturer. Comprising the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+, these phones are equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, boasting up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Notably, they claim the title of the first smartphones to feature built-in RGB fans to effectively manage thermal performance.

In terms of pricing, the Red Magic 9 Pro starts at CNY 4,399 (approximately ₹51,700) for the 8GB+256GB configuration, with the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants priced at CNY 4,799 (approximately ₹57,000) and CNY 5,199 (approximately ₹61,100), respectively.

On the other hand, the Red Magic 9 Pro+ is priced starting at CNY 5,499 (approximately ₹64,600) for the 16GB+256GB model. The 16GB+512GB variant is priced at CNY 5,799 (approximately ₹68,900), and the top-tier 24GB+1TB model is listed at CNY 6,999 (approximately ₹83,100).

Both models in the Red Magic 9 Pro series operate on Red Magic OS 9.0 based on Android 14 out-of-the-box and feature a 6.8-inch full-HD+ BOE Q9+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,600 nits.

The smartphones are powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, coupled with the dedicated Red Core R2 gaming chip and up to 24TB of LPDDR5x RAM. The innovative cooling system includes a 10,182 square millimeter vapor chamber and a new alloy fan with a waterfall air duct, reportedly reducing the handset’s temperature by up to 25 degrees Celsius when combined with the proprietary CUBE engine.

The rear panel hosts a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Samsung GN5 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera featuring a Samsung JN1 sensor. Additionally, there’s a 16-megapixel under-display camera for selfies.

Storage options include up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage on the Red Magic 9 Pro and up to 1TB on the Red Magic 9 Pro+. Connectivity features encompass 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. The Red Magic 9 Pro houses a 6,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support, while the Red Magic 9 Pro+ is equipped with a 5,500mAh battery and supports rapid 165W charging. Both models incorporate an under-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
