As per the player’s votes, Valve has announced the winning game names of the 2020 Steam Awards. The games which are released after November on Steam, that are eligible for the next year Steam Awards. In the same way, Red Dead Redemption 2 has become 2020’s game of the year, which came into Steam in December 2019. This game from Rockstar has beaten many popular contenders and won an award for Outstanding Story-Rich Game.
Below, there is the full list of the winners:
- VR Game of the Year: Half-Life: Alyx (A first-person shooting game with the VR experience.)
- Labor of Love: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (A 5v5 multiplayer FPS game, where the Terrorists need to plant the bomb in a site and Counter-Terrorists need to defend the site.)
- Better With Friends: Fall Guys (A multiplayer knockout game with different kinds of challenges in different maps.)
- Most Innovative Gameplay: Death Stranding (An open-world action-adventure game, developed by Kojima productions.)
- Outstanding Story-Rich Game: Red Dead Redemption 2 (A classic western action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Games. The full release came in 2019, before that the online multiplayer mode was only available as a beta version.)
- Best Game You Suck At: Apex Legends (A free-to-play Battle Royal FPS game, published by EA. This game has a number of ‘legends’ with different kinds of abilities. In 2021, a Nintendo Switch version could be released.)
- Outstanding Visual Style: Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Through the Blind Forest, you’ll experience the two-dimensional fine artwork. Climb, jump, swim, and glide on the map and solve the puzzles.)
- Best Soundtrack: DOOM Eternal (Bethesda Softworks published this game on 20th March 2020. You need to fight with a good strategy with your weapons.)
- Sit Back and Relax: The Sims 4 (Here in the game you will create a character and simulator life as your own.)
- Game of the Year: Red Dead Redemption 2
