### What’s Happening in the Drama?

[*Reborn Rookie*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reborn_Rookie) follows Kang Yong Ho (Son Hyun Joo), the all-powerful chairman of Choiseong Group, whose soul gets swapped into the body of young soccer player Hwang Jun Hyun (Lee Jun Young) after a freak accident. Suddenly, the man who ran the company is forced to restart from the bottom — as a rookie employee at his own firm.

The corporate power dynamics have been the heart of the show, and it’s been delicious drama. Previously, Hwang Jun Hyun shook things up at Choiseong Group by suddenly turning Kang Bang Geul (Lee Ju Myoung) — who had been left out of the succession battle — into a contender for the heir. By transforming into a “kingmaker,” Hwang Jun Hyun effectively got in the way of Kang Jae Gyeong (Jeon Hye Jin)’s unchecked rise to the top.

So naturally, fans assumed Hwang Jun Hyun was firmly in Kang Bang Geul’s corner. Which is exactly why these new stills are sending everyone into a spiral.

### The Twist Nobody Saw Coming

In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Hwang Jun Hyun is unexpectedly seen standing at Kang Jae Gyeong’s side during her inauguration as chairwoman. As newly appointed chairwoman Kang Jae Gyeong takes the podium with a confident expression, Hwang Jun Hyun wears a stern expression right beside her.

That image raises a mountain of questions. The sight of Hwang Jun Hyun right next to Kang Jae Gyeong during this crucial moment — seemingly indicating that he is one of the closest members of her inner circle — raises the question of why he is by her side instead of Kang Bang Geul’s. Is he now genuinely supporting Kang Jae Gyeong, or is this all part of his grand scheme?

The show has consistently rewarded patient viewers, and this moment feels like the beginning of the drama’s most complex phase yet. A calculated move? A trap being set? Or has Kang Yong Ho’s soul genuinely changed allegiances?
