Realme 300W Fast Charging Technology Set to be Announced on August 14th

Realme has teased that it will unveil the “world’s fastest charging technology” on August 14th at its annual 828 Fan Festival in Shenzhen, China. Given that the brand is not providing any specifics, its 300W fast charging tech would make it the fastest among all smartphones in terms of available wired-charging capabilities.

The Upcoming Realme 300W Fast Charging

Realme has sent out invites for a new fast charging technology on August 14th that it says will be the fastest in the world. While the company has not spilled out any technical details, rumors say Realme may debut its 300W fast charging at this event.

GizmoChina quotes Realme Global Head of Marketing Francis Wong saying that the brand has been testing 300W fast charging technology. While details are yet to be revealed, the company claims that it can top up a device from 0 percent to 50 percent in less than three minutes and charge up fully within five minutes.

Certainly, it’s worth mentioning that Redmi announced its own 300W charging system a year ago, but as of this writing at least, the tech is nowhere to be found inside an actual device. Realme has already showcased 240W fast charging and this is likely the next generation of that technology. More information will be revealed during the event, where Realme will showcase its fast-charging technology and the battery capacity involved. That being said, do not start expecting to see this technology in production anytime soon as it looks like more of a technical achievement for the brand.

Most brands now offer 120W which is the highest charging speed you come across from any brand. The GT Neo 5 with its blistering fast 240W charging did make it out from Realme last year though this tech was never adopted in subsequent GT models. There have been exceptions, like the OnePlus 10T with 150W fast charging and the iQOO 10 Pro with 200W fast charging. The 300W fast-charging technology is a sneak peek at the future of Android phones.
