The Real Madrid job is arguably the one with the most expectations and the most pressure of all the clubs one can manage on the face of the earth.
Owing to a 0-1 defeat to Cadiz at home, followed by a shocking start to the Champions League in a 2-3 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk at the same venue, Zidane was under severe pressure due to the poor form of Los Blancos.
The club from the capital are always expected to win whenever they take the pitch. Apart from other European giants, a defeat any time during the season is unacceptable to the passionate fans.
Hence, El Clasico was an important victory for Zidane today. However, our point of focus is the future of Real Madrid.
The La Liga champions did not spend a penny in the transfer window this summer. This is quite uncharacteristic behaviour from Madrid. But rumours are stirring already.Â
And if they are to be believed, Real are planning a spending spree which will see the likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Haaland and Mbappe being lured to the club.
In the case of the French sensation, €150m is the price tag put on him by PSG. The youngster’s contract expires next summer and is the highest valued player in the world right now.
Mbappe is keen on joining Real, to seemingly follow in the footsteps of his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo and fellow Frenchman Zinedine Zidane.
Although Zidane’s future at the club is safe for the time being, due to the 3-1 victory against Barcelona, a move for the French forward will not be affected by Zidane’s presence or absence at the club.
Diario AS originally reported the news and they went on to say that Mbappe would not extend his contract beyond next summer. Hence, the Parisians will be wise to cash in on their most valuable asset rather than risk losing him for less than a bag of chips.
