Real Madrid youngster injured as centre-back crisis continues

Real Madrid’s injury list continues to grow, with young defender Jacobo Ramon sidelined with a muscle injury. The 19-year-old was named on the bench for Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta, and has also been an unused substitute for the club’s first four LaLiga games of the season.

The silver lining is that the teenager will only be out for 10-15 days because of the muscle injury. As a result, he should be back just after the international break provided there are no further setbacks.

Jacobo Ramon joins growing injury list at Real Madrid

The defender has prominently featured for Real Madrid’s Castilla side, but it now seems like he is making his way up to the first team as evident by the regular callups. The injuries to David Alaba and Eder Militao have led to Carlo Ancelotti turning to the academy for reinforcements.

Here is the list of players currently sidelined for Madrid:

  • Eder Militao
  • David Alaba
  • Dani Ceballos
  • Aurelien Tchouameni
  • Eduardo Camavinga
  • Ferland Mendy
  • Joan Martinez

It will be interesting to see if Jacobo Ramon can start for Real Madrid this season, given the long year ahead and the massive volume of fixtures yet to be played.

Who could replace Jacobo?

Raul Asencio from Castilla
