Vinicius Jr is enjoying his best season at Real Madrid, and Carlo Ancelotti has managed to get the best out of the Brazilian after several seasons of heavy criticism. The winger made the move from Flamengo in 2018 for a fee worth 45 million Euros.
The youngster, at 21, has been subjected to heavy criticism over the years for his poor finishing. But, Ancelotti has now managed to work on the player and improve his finishing massively as well.
This season, he has scored 5 goals in 6 appearances for Real Madrid in La Liga this year. These numbers are currently his best ever, and his previous best was four goals in a single campaign. His great form has earned him a starting berth ahead of the likes of Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale under the Italian.
Surprisingly, Real Madrid are yet to negotiate a new deal with the young winger, despite him having four years remaining on his current deal. The release clause is worth over 400 million Euros, and despite interest from several clubs in Europe, Florentino Perez has maintained that Vinicius Jr is untouchable and will not be transferred under any circumstances since he is a vital part of the future.
Vinicius is also of the lowest earners at the club, and his recent form will encourage him and his agent to open talks about a better payment scheme soon. The 21-year-old has finally arrived at the Bernabeu, and is now a strong contender in the race for the Pichichi Trophy.
