Real Madrid are working to extend the contract of Fede Valverde after announcing new deals for Thibaut Courtois and Dani Carvajal.

The midfielder is considered a key part of the future of the club, and is untouchable in terms of transfers. The Uruguayan currently has four years left on his deal with Madrid, and as a result, is secured for the time being. However, Madrid are not taking any chances and will probably offer him fresh terms alongside the duration of the new deal.

The 23-year-old is valued at €65 million and is one of the brightest young midfielders in La Liga. After leaving Penarol in Uruguay, the player joined Real Madrid’s Castilla academy in 2016 and has now broken into the first team.

The youngster has already made over 100 appearances for Real Madrid, and has shown his brilliance on the pitch in high-profile matches such as El Clasico as well. With Luka Modric only having one year left on his current deal with Real Madrid, we could be seeing Valverde integrated into the starting lineup by the end of the season.

Real recently lost both their first team centre-backs, Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos due to contract related issues. And as a result, they do not want to repeat the same mistakes with talented youngsters like Fede Valverde. They have since announced new deals for Lucas Vasquez, Nacho, Carvajal and Courtois, all of whom are key players in the first team.
