The last season’s finalists of the UEFA Champions League are playing against each other again this season as well but a bit early, in the Round of 16. UCL current holders Real Madrid travelled to Anfield to play against runners-up Liverpool. The Spanish club has a good record against the Premier League side as they beat Liverpool in two Champions League finals, 2018 and 2022 and now have a first-leg advantage of 5-2 in this Round of 16 tie.

However, the Reds are in a good form lately having beaten Manchester United by 7-0. They also have the experience of European comebacks when they overturned their first-leg deficit against Barcelona. So, it would be foolish to write Liverpool off and Real Madrid must play the tie from 0-0.
