Real Madrid: Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Reguilon; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Vasquez, Benzema, Vinicius
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Arthur; Messi, Suarez, Dembele

Barcelona’s 3-0 victory in the Copa del Rey semi-final 2nd leg match could be a bit misleading especially since Real Madrid were the better side and had better goal-scoring opportunities in the game. The 18-year-old Brazilian forward, Vinicius Junior should have scored a first-half hat-trick but was denied by a combination of bad finishing and excellent goalkeeping from Marc-Andre ter Stegan. Barcelona didn’t have a single shot on target in the first half. But Real Madrid were brushed aside by a professional Barcelona side. Luis Suarez bagged a brace and Raphael Varane scored an own goal as they managed to score three in the second half to progress with a 4-1 aggregate.

Vinicius Junior

So this time, Real Madrid especially Vinicius Junior will be looking to made amends and win this match. He has just got his first call-up to the Brazilian national team and has been in dazzling form this season. He has given Barcelona many problems in their last two matches and will look to get his goal in this match.

Isco is also back in the Real Madrid squad for Saturday’s El Clasico clash with Barcelona after almost a month on the sidelines with back and neck pain. He has not been named in a matchday squad by Real Madrid since the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final with Barca on February 6, a 1-1 draw in which he was an unused substitute. The 26-year-old has still not started a league game since Santiago Solari was promoted to become the replacement for Julen Lopetegui, who coached Isco while in charge of Spain. But Isco could be selected for Saturday’s meeting at the Santiago Bernabeu as Madrid seek to narrow the gap on LaLiga rivals Barca and make amends for their Copa exit.

Solari and Isco

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s head coach Valverde has demanded an improvement in Barcelona’s performance and denied a victory would give his side a decisive lead in the title race.
Meanwhile, his counterpart Solari faces a tough time. A shock home defeat to Girona left them nine points behind LaLiga leaders Barcelona last month, meaning anything but a win in Saturday’s Clasico will all but end their title challenge. It all means the pressure is mounting on Solari, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract only last November in the wake of Julen Lopetegui’s dismissal. The Copa del Rey El Clasico defeat to Barcelona and another loss against their great rivals this weekend could be potentially fatal to his tenure.

What Real Madrid really need is a squad overhaul! And with that, they also need a man in charge who can bring the best out of a talented crop yet to hit full potential. They need someone to bring the best out of the likes of Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos and Federico Valverde. The successes of Reguilon and Llorente were almost borne out of necessity.
The sensible option to do that would undoubtedly be Mauricio Pochettino. He could also be the man to massage the bruised egos of Marcelo, Gareth Bale and Isco, who face futures quite as uncertain as Solari at Madrid.
