Real Madrid and Barcelona have faced each other 246 times. Los Blancos have got the better of their rivals on 98 occasions while Barcelona have won the Clasico 96 times. The two teams have shared points on 52 occasions.

The first time that the two teams faced off was in the Copa de la Coronacion, which was won by Barcelona. The first official match between the two was in 1916 and the rivalry between the two top clubs in the world has continued ever since.

El Clasico has featured some of the best players in the world such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, David Beckham, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique to name a few. The rivalry between the two Spanish giants is the most famous one in the world, and is talked about by football fans everywhere.

The last time Barcelona and Real Madrid met, Real Madrid won 3-1 with goals from Fede Valverde, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos scoring for the victors. Ansu Fati scored the only goal of the game for Barcelona, who has now inherited the legendary number 10 shirt at Barcelona.

The two teams will battle it out with fans in attendance for the first time since the lockdown, and will surely be an encounter to behold. Madrid are arguably the better side in the league right now and head into the game as the favourites. Barcelona are in a more difficult position right now, since their recent record has not been very good.
