Real Madrid Vs Alavés

Real Madrid survived a late scare to secure a 3-2 victory over Alavés in LaLiga on Tuesday, thanks to goals from Lucas Vázquez, Kylian Mbappé, and Rodrygo. Despite a strong performance, Madrid faced a nervy ending as Carlos Benavidez and Kike García scored in the 88th and 89th minutes for Alavés, nearly overturning Madrid’s dominance throughout the match.

With this win, Madrid stays in second place in the LaLiga standings with 17 points, just one behind leaders Barcelona, who have a game in hand and will face Getafe next.

The action started early, with Madrid opening the scoring just over a minute after kickoff. Vinícius Júnior received a long pass from Federico Valverde, sprinted up the left wing, and set up Vázquez, who slotted home from close range. Madrid maintained control, with Vinícius, Mbappé, and Bellingham consistently posing a threat to the Alavés defense.

Mbappé had the ball in the back of the net in the 22nd minute, but his goal was ruled offside. Madrid continued their pressure and extended their lead in the 40th minute when Mbappé, after a neat one-two with Bellingham, cut inside and finished past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Rodrygo added a third goal just three minutes into the second half, finishing off a counter-attack with a low shot under the goalkeeper’s legs. Madrid looked set for a comfortable victory until defensive lapses allowed Benavidez and García to score in quick succession for Alavés.

Captain Lucas Vázquez reflected on the match, saying, “It’s a shame the game ended the way it did, given our performance throughout. We were happy with the win but disappointed that we conceded two late goals. Still, we did many things right.”

Madrid’s win keeps them in the hunt for the top spot as the LaLiga season progresses.
