Real Madrid are interested in signing Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies in the summer 2024 transfer window. The 14-time Champions League winners are anticipating a price tag between €40-50 million for the Canada international, but are yet to open any discussions with Bayern.
The defender’s contract with the Bavarians expires in 2025, and talks to renew don’t seem any close to starting. As a result, rumours of the club potentially cashing in on the player have now started gaining traction. But, even though Bayern don’t want to sell their star defender, they might be forced into the transfer since they don’t have the luxury of time to negotiate a new deal.
Alphonso Davies a transfer target for Real Madrid in 2024
Real Madrid have already invested in signing Fran Garcia this summer, meaning they have two left-back options alongside Ferland Mendy. With both players at the club, one would have to be sold to make room for Davies should he choose to move.
With Bayern, the defender has won every available title including the sextuple of 2020 under Hansi Flick. As a result, a challenge in a new country might prove too good to turn down, especially considering it is Real Madrid who want to sign the player.
It is still too early to tell whether Alphonso Davies will be a Real Madrid player next season as we are in the initial stages. Moreover, contract talks are yet to take place between Davies and Bayern which could prove to be another stumbling block for Real.
