Real Madrid will be without two very important midfielders for their clash against Liverpool in the Champions League. Aurelien Tchouameni and Toni Kroos have been sidelined due to injury, and will not be travelling with the squad in midweek.
The midfield pair did not train on Sunday, alongside Karim Benzema. However, the number nine will be available for the game against Liverpool and he will be travelling to Anfield.
Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouameni to miss Real Madrid’s clash against Liverpool
Both Kroos and Tchouameni are very important for Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, but there are other options that he can turn to. Luka Modric will be making the trip alongside Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard in particular has had game time, after an impressive few weeks.
And as a result, he could start against Jurgen Klopp’s side in midweek. The presence of Benzema will be a huge boost for their chances of gaining an advantage for Real Madrid in the first leg.
Ancelotti has confirmed that Dani Carvajal will be starting at right-back, while Vinicius and Rodrygo could take their spots in attack. Thibaut Courtois is also expected to start, having returned from his injury.
Ferland Mendy will be unavailable for the game due to a thigh injury. And now, David Alaba will be filling in with Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger at centre-back.
