Real Madrid have presented record profits for the 2022/23 season so far, with €43.9 million in profits being registered. The Spanish giants have earned a reputation as one of the best run clubs in the world in recent years, and their financial reports document the same.
The club parted ways with several big names like Marcelo, Isco and Casemiro to trim their wage bill further. They have cut that down by 8% year on year, and the figure currently stands at €252.73 million. Trimming their salary expenses has been a big part of the year ending in green this time.
Real Madrid present record profits of €43.9 million for the 2022/23 season
Prize money from the Club World Cup (€1.8m), Spanish Super Cup (€6.8m), their pre-season tour of America (€11.13m) and ticket sales worth €126.73m have helped Los Blancos reach this figure.
The most important factor, however, has been their reluctance to sign many new players in the transfer squad. Building a stable squad has been a challenge for many years, and they have barely added any players to their line-up this season.
Their only player expense involved Endrick, who won’t be joining the first team until 2024. As a result, they have positioned themselves very well to spend on players this summer, if they wish to do so.
A second place finish in La Liga, and qualifying for the semifinals of the Champions League will result in another generous payout for Real Madrid. On the other hand, winning the Copa del Rey will also help them generate further revenue this season.
Their rivals, Barcelona, are struggling to work with the Financial Fair Play limits owing to their bloated wage bill. And in contrast, Real Madrid have managed their veterans and newcomers very well to operate within a set budget.
