Real Madrid are reportedly looking to offload Vinicius Junior this summer, and have offered him to Manchester United on an initial loan deal according to the Mirror.
The motive behind letting go of the Brazilian is their quest to sign Kylian Mbappe, which will cost the club around £150 million. Madrid have been linked with the French star for a very long time, and now that Mbappe has a year left on his contract, this could be the perfect time for them to try and bid for their target.
Given the difficult financial situation of Real Madrid right now, they will have to raise funds through player sales if they want to sign Mbappe. They are already in talks with Manchester United regarding the sale of Raphael Varane which will get them about £50 million.
Madrid will consider letting go of Vinicius on a loan deal that will eventually turn permanent. The only problem with this is that they are looking for £68.5 million for the youngster. United have already spent a hefty sum to secure the transfer of Jadon Sancho this summer, so it will be difficult for them to fund the move.
New manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to keep the 21-year-old at the club, and the player is disappointed that Madrid are planning to move him on. He has made over 100 appearances for Real Madrid since joining 3 years ago as a teenager from Brazilian side Flamengo.
His performances have been subject to heavy criticism, but he has shown flashes of his brilliance. But at a club like Real Madrid, consistency is expected every week. Hence, getting an established youngster like Mbappe could be Real’s best bet to return to the top.
