Real Madrid are preparing a player plus cash offer for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian winger is yet to sign a new deal with the Premier League club, and Madrid have lined up the player as a potential target according to ESPN.

The Spanish giants plan to offer Liverpool cash, alongside Eden Hazard as makeweight for the remainder of the funds. The Chelsea legend made a highly-anticipated move to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019, but has failed to adapt to the club during his two years with them.

Most of his time with Real Madrid has been plagued by injuries and he has spent more time on the treatment table, than being available for selection. While it is unfortunate, Hazard is not the same player that he was during his time with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Salah is now the joint-highest African goalscorer in Premier League history, having matched Didier Drogba’s 104 goal tally. The Liverpool star is without a doubt the best player in the world right now, and will command a massive fee if Liverpool were to even consider selling him.

Their priority right now is getting Salah to sign a new deal with them, but the initial talks have highlighted a difference between the two parties in terms of the financial aspect. Liverpool have worked hard to negotiate new contracts with most of their key players this year, and Salah is next on the list.

The 29-year-old’s contract expires in 2023, and the situation could be dangerous next summer if he still hasn’t committed to Anfield.
