Serie A club Fiorentina have completed the signing of Alvaro Odriozola on a loan deal for the upcoming season.
Fiorentina will pay the player’s salary and have no option to buy Odriozola. It is a straight up deal, and the full-back will return to the Bernabeu in June 2022. Tottenham and Lille were the other possible destinations for the player, but he has decided to go to Serie A ahead of the other two alternatives.
Lucas Vasquez and Dani Carvajal are ahead of Odriozola in the pecking order at the right-back position, and as a result, he would be strapped for game time had he stayed at the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid have now made an official bid for Kylian Mbappe, pitching €170 million up front with €10 million in add-ons for the French star. Paris Saint-Germain are yet to formally respond, but Nasser Al-Khelaifi has mentioned time and time again that if Mbappe is to leave the club, it will be on the terms of the management.
The 22-year-old only has one year remaining on his current deal with PSG, and he dreams of playing for Real Madrid. His teammates are aware of this fact, as well as the PSG board. So, if PSG do not let the player leave this year, they will lose him for a free transfer next year.
Madrid had a previous bid rejected for Mbappe, with Paris saying that the money was not enough. Sources say that the second bid could be the last one that Madrid try before they start playing the waiting game to try and recruit the player as a free agent.
