Real Madrid have made an opening offer for Argentine youngster Franco Mastantuono, who currently plays at River Plate. In spite of being only 16 years old, the attacking midfielder has attracted interest from several top European clubs.
Chelsea and PSG have been linked with his signature, but have not yet made an offer. Madrid have made an opening bid of €25 million for the youngster, which is significantly under his release clause of €45 million.
The likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Federico Valverde and Endrick have all been recruited from South America at relatively young ages, and have become top players for the club. And now, Madrid are planning to repeat the same formula when it comes to Mastantuono.

Los Blancos’ pursuit is being led by Santiago Solari, and the director is confident that Mastantuono will be a top signing for the club.
However, it’s interesting to note that Real Madrid already have the likes of Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz who can all play the number 10 role. Moreover, they are all relatively young and will surely warrant more game time than Franco Mastantuono.
As a result, the Argentine youngster might choose to stay at River Plate for several years after he turns 18. Or, he could be sent on loan like Diaz to develop and return when he is ready to be integrated into the first team.
