Real Madrid have denied claims of wanting to leave La Liga and join the Premier League instead. The club released a statement denying that any such decision was even considered.

“Given the information published today by the newspaper Mundo Deportivo, in which it says that our club studied the possibility of moving from LaLiga to the Premier, Real Madrid wants to assert that this information is completely false, absurd and impossible and it only intends to disturb, once more, the day to day of our club,” the club statement read.

Mundo Deportivo wrote the original report claiming that Real Madrid were sick of the management of La Liga, and wanted to break away from the Spanish league itself. This is in accordance with the bitter rivalry between Florentino Perez and La Liga president Javier Tebas.

The two parties have had more than 50 legal cases against each other, and were at daggers most recently due to the CVC deal. Madrid publicly claimed that they would take legal action against La Liga selling 10% of their TV rights for the next 50 years in exchange for investment from the company.

However, the Spanish Football Federation found the investment totally illegal which puts the possibility of the deal ever going through in doubt.

Florentino Perez is also involved in the European Super League plans, and is still not willing to give up on the idea. As a result, Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid have been left out of the new Champions League intro. All things considered, moving to the domestic league in England is absurd and unrealistic from any perspective.
