The winter transfer window is almost a month away, and Real Madrid in particular seem to have a number of key decisions to make. Here are the three main points of discussion for the midseason window.
3 key free agents
Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba and Antonio Rudiger are all going to be free agents at the end of the season if they don’t agree to new contracts with their current clubs. Madrid has been linked as a potential destination for all three players, and the time for discussion with them will begin in a month.
The initial talks might lead to a pre-contract agreement with Los Blancos, which will result in a free transfer at the end of the season.
New contracts
Vinicius Jr and Eder Militao are key players for Real Madrid right now, and are the present and future of the club. They will need to start working for new deals for these players as the season reaches the halfway mark.
Departures
Luka Jovic, Mariano Diaz and Jesus Vallejo seem to be on the verge of leaving the club in the winter transfer window. They have barely had chances to play under Carlo Ancelotti this season, and will be looking to apply themselves elsewhere.
The old guard trio of Marcelo, Isco and Gareth Bale is also nearing the end of their contracts with the club. As of the moment, there seems to be no talks for renewals and all these players will be departing the Bernabeu for good. Real Madrid will have to manage their farewells in the best way possible, considering the amount that they have done for the club.
