Real Madrid have won the 2022 UEFA Super Cup after beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in Helsinki. Karim Benzema scored his 324th career goal for Los Blancos, overtaking club legend Raul as the second-highest goalscorer in the history of the club.
It was a comfortable win for the 14-time Champions League winners, with Frankfurt being unable to capitalise on their opportunities throughout the game. Thibaut Courtois was called into action several times, and made some key saves to keep a clean sheet.

David Alaba opened the scoring for the Spanish giants, tapping in from point blank range after a cutback header from Casemiro. In the second half, Vinicius Jr found his strike partner from the left wing, and the Frenchman was able to power through Kevin Trapp. The German fumbled the shot, which ended up in the back of the net.
Daichi Kamada had one of the best opportunities during the game, when he was one-on-one with the keeper. But, Courtois was able to make a great save to maintain the lead.
A dominant second half display from Real Madrid prevented Frankfurt from getting out of their own half, for the most part. And now, they have been able to get their hands on the Super Cup once again, with the Club World Cup next.
