Nagelsmann has done an excellent job. Even after losing his best performer Timo Werner, who has signed for Chelsea, he guided his team to victory against a resilient Atletico Madrid team.

They went 1-0 up after the start of the second half via Dani Olmo’s header. But Simeone brought Joao Felix on and he turned the match into Atletico’s favour.

Felix earned a penalty and converted it into a goal himself. Atletico were looking to break again but Dayot Upamecano excellently led the backline to hold off Atletico’s attack. And then in the last minutes of the match, super-sub Tyler Adams scored a goal deflected of Savic. It was enough for Leipzig to progress into the semi-final and set up a date with PSG.
