Eintracht Frankfurt forward Andre Silva will join RB Leipzig soon, with medicals for the Portuguese striker scheduled for today. Leipzig will pay a fee worth €35 million in total, with €23 million upfront for the player.

Silva was one of the highest scorers in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 28 goals and providing 8 assists in 32 games for Frankfurt. He has well and truly managed to redeem himself from his time at AC Milan, where he was sent out on loan numerous times before he joined Frankfurt on a permanent deal.

Leipzig had the best defensive performance across last season, but were struggling to replicate their attacking output from previous seasons due to the loss of Timo Werner to Chelsea. The 25-year-old striker has shown his brilliance in Germany, and is the perfect solution for Leipzig to become stronger title contenders in the upcoming season.

The Red Bull club will be starting a new chapter in their history, with Jesse Mersch taking the reins at the club. Julian Nagelsmann left for Bayern Munich at the end of the season, and was joined by Dayot Upamecano on the way to Bavaria.

A recognised finisher in the form of Silva will be very threatening when you consider the kind of creative talent that they have. Emil Forsberg, Marcel Sabitzer, Dani Olmo, Dominik Szoboszlai and Christopher Nkunku will all be expected to supply the forward to improve their offense, as they hope to finally dethrone Bayern Munich.
