Ravindra Jadeja won’t be available for India’s T20 World Cup squad, after undergoing knee surgery. The all-rounder played an important part in the win against Pakistan earlier in the Asian Cup. But, he was unable to feature in the subsequent games.
His right knee has been an issue for the last few months, and the player has finally decided to get it operated. The surgery was successful, and Jadeja has confirmed the same on his social media accounts.
Ravindra Jadeja’s knee surgery rules him out for T20 World Cup
“The surgery was successful. 🙌 There are many people to thank for their support and involvement – BCCI, my teammates, support staff, physios, doctors and the fans. I will start my rehab soon and try to get back to 🏏 soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes 🙏”, Ravindra Jadeja’s Instagram post read.
Jadeja’s right knee has been an issue for a while now. The all-rounder missed some matches with CSK in the late stages of the season. He was also rested for the T20 series against South Africa. The issues came up in India’s series against the West Indies, following their tour of England. And he had to be dropped for a couple of games.
With long-term recovery the only option for him, India will be without one of their key players in Australia, when they play the World Cup in October.
