Fulham are close to completing a £5.5 million deal with Wolves for the transfer of Raul Jimenez. The Cottagers are preparing for life without Aleksander Mitrovic, and have identified the Mexican as the replacement for their star striker.
Mitrovic is pushing for a move to Al Ahli, with the Saudi Arabian club having made a massive offer to him. Fulham have rejected two offers for the striker, but a deal to Saudi Arabia looks likely for the Serbian.
Raul Jimenez to sign for Fulham imminently
The medical for the transfer is expected to take place next week, once an agreement has been reached over the deal. Raul Jimenez has accepted Fulham’s offer, and is open to leaving Wolves to pursue a new challenge.
The 32-year-old has been with Wolves since 2018, and has made 135 Premier League appearances for the club. During this time, he has scored 40 goals and provided 19 assists. He has also earned 102 international caps for the Mexican national team, scoring 30 goals and winning the Gold Cup in 2019.
The Cottagers have secured the transfers of Calvin Bassey and Mohammed Salisu as well, and are now close to securing Jimenez. Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi is also another option for them to bolster their attack. On the other hand, club manager Marco Silva has turned down a massive offer from Saudi Arabia in favour of a stay at the club.
