Raptor Lake appears to have already been revealed by Intel

Intel’s 600 Series Chipset Family Platform Controller Hub datasheet was recently revised (PCH). A table is similar to the one below can be found by clicking the “PCH SKUs” bookmark on the left side of the linked web page or downloading the PDF and going to Page 14. In the case of Intel 600 series chipsets, the first value is valid. The second amount, as emphasised, could indicate the changes we will see when Intel’s 700 series chipsets arrive, according to some admittedly shaky logic and Japan’s Uniko’s Hardware.

As you can see in the image below, it appears that some spec modifications will be made to motherboard PCIe lanes and USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 specifications. Please take this with a grain of salt, but if these modifications indicate the switch to the Intel 700 series chipset, the next Intel B760, H770, and Z790 motherboards will prioritise PCIe Gen4 lanes while reducing PCIe Gen3 lanes. Although the total number of PCIe lanes remains unchanged, users are unlikely to rebalance to newer, faster standards. Remember that these are maximum figures for PCIe Gen3/4 lanes; thus, different options depending on the product and target market. depending on the product and target market

The above data also illustrates that as the Z690 to Z790 transitions, the maximum number of USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 ports will grow from four to five. These are the chipset’s fastest USB ports, capable of up to 20 Gbps.

According to the above table analysis rationale, the H610 chipset will not replace a 700 series replacement. Raptor Lake is the codename for Intel’s 13th generation Core processors, available later this year. Intel appears to be pretty well advanced with this generation’s development, as seen by many benchmarks and other leaks in recent weeks.

Intel has stated that desktop platforms from the 600 and 700 series would be cross-compatible. In other words, any LGA1700 motherboard you have for your Alder Lake CPU should be entirely compatible with Raptor Lake CPUs.
