The wait is almost over. After weeks of release date speculation, the picture around *Ramayana: Part One* is finally getting clearer, and it’s good news for fans on both sides of the globe. Here’s everything you need to know before you book your tickets.

## Ramayana Part One: Overview

## Why the Date Was So Confusing?

Fans had plenty to debate. Some expected a November 6 release, the Friday before Diwali, and a few overseas schedules even listed it. Others guessed the day after Diwali, a pattern several big Diwali releases have followed over the past decade. A Monday release wouldn’t suit a film pitched as a global event, though.

Then came a rumour of a Diwali-day release on Sunday, November 8, two days after the international opening. That turned out to be a misreading of an interview, but it caused real panic, since India opening after overseas markets would be unusual for a big Indian film.

## The Final Plan: Wednesday Previews, Thursday Opening

According to Pinkvilla’s exclusive, India gets paid previews on November 4 and the official opening on November 5. The logic is simple: many overseas markets open on Thursday, and India needs to be at least level with them. Wednesday previews solve that neatly.

## Is a Pre-Diwali Release Risky?

Traditionally, the days before Diwali are a quiet period for the box office, but that concern has faded. In 2024, *Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3* and *Singham Again* both released on Diwali day, usually the weakest day, and still did well. Some impact is expected, but strong early demand should carry the film through, with the post-Diwali Monday onward looking like overdrive.

## Worldwide Release Schedule

| Territory | Date |
| --- | --- |
| **India** (previews) | Nov 4 (Wed) |
| **India** (opening) | Nov 5 (Thu) |
| **North America** (previews) | Nov 4 (Wed) |

| **United Kingdom, South Africa, Mauritius** | Nov 6 (Fri) |
| **China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong** | TBD |

The UK could still shift to Thursday or even Wednesday. East Asian markets may get a day-and-date release or a later one. Pinkvilla notes that the dates are more or less locked but can change from day to day.
