## Why Is Ranbir Shooting Ramayana 2 Right Now?

Originally, Ranbir was scheduled to begin shooting *Love & War* with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in March — but due to Bhansali’s recent health concerns, that schedule has been pushed to around May 2026. [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigg_Boss_Marathi) Rather than sit idle, Ranbir pivoted straight back to the biggest film of his career.

According to sources close to the production, Ranbir aims to complete a significant portion of his shoot for the mythological epic between March and May, currently sporting a clean-shaven look that aligns with the visual continuity planned for the film. ## The Ram-Hanuman Scenes Are the Heart of Part 2

This upcoming schedule is particularly crucial because it includes multiple combination scenes between Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman — sequences that are absolutely pivotal to the film’s narrative arc and emotional core. [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigg_Boss_Marathi)

There’s something genuinely spine-tingling about the idea of Ranbir Kapoor and Sunny Deol sharing the same frame, embodying two of the most revered characters in Hindu mythology. The [Ramayana](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramayana) — one of the two great Sanskrit epics of ancient India — has been retold across centuries, but never quite at this scale of cinematic ambition.

With a Hollywood VFX team already on board and Part 1 locked for **Diwali 2026**, the pressure on this shoot is immense — and the excitement even greater.
