When a film’s pre-release event costs more than most movies’ entire production budgets, you know something extraordinary is on the way. *Peddi* is making a statement before a single ticket is sold.

## What’s Happening on May 23?

The makers of *Peddi* are reportedly planning a massive musical event in Bhopal on May 23, 2026, ahead of the film’s release. Equipment worth Rs 150 crore is being brought in from Mumbai for [AR Rahman’s](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._R._Rahman) live performance, with the rental cost for the setup alone said to be Rs 1 crore per day. These figures haven’t been officially confirmed by the makers, but if even half of it is accurate, this is shaping up to be one of the most extravagant film promotions Indian cinema has ever seen.

## What Is “Peddi” About?

![Peddi](https://technosports.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/edededed.jpg)

*Peddi* revolves around a young and spirited man from a village who is considered a legend in multiple sports — cricket, wrestling, and running. As he navigates the challenges of everyday life, he faces his biggest test yet and strives to make a name for himself using his raw, honed talent. The film explores themes of self-discovery, personal rivalry, and a budding romance.

It’s the kind of pan-India sports drama that could resonate deeply — think grit, glory, and a village boy taking on the world.

## The Shruti Haasan Cameo Angle

Reports also suggest that Shruti Haasan has been roped in for a cameo dance number in the film, which is likely to be unveiled at the May 23 musical event — adding another layer of excitement to what’s already a packed promotional evening.

## Ram Charan’s Bigger Picture

Ram Charan was last seen in *Game Changer*, directed by Shankar, which received an underwhelming response at the box office. After *Peddi*, he is expected to collaborate with Sukumar for the tentatively titled RC17 — their second project together after the massive success of *Rangasthalam*.
