## Why This Film Matters

For Riteish Deshmukh, *Raja Shivaji* is clearly a deeply personal project. As a Maharashtrian actor who has spent years in mainstream Hindi cinema — mostly in comedic roles — this is his bold, definitive statement as a filmmaker. The film’s storyline centres on Shivaji Maharaj rising against formidable powers to lay the foundation of Swarajya — a theme of resistance, courage, and justice that resonates far beyond Maharashtra.

The teaser’s visuals suggest large-scale battle sequences, rich period production design, and an emotional core built around Shivaji’s legendary leadership.
