Chelsea are set to confirm their first signing of the men’s team under the Todd Boehly era in Raheem Sterling. The player is all set to make the move to London, and was convinced by Thomas Tuchel’s plans for him.
He is expected to be one of the best-paid players in the squad, with a salary north of £300,000 per week agreed for the winger. The total fee agreed for the England international is £47.5 million, which is a great piece of business considering he is entering his peak years as a footballer.
Raheem Sterling to sign for Chelsea
Medicals for the winger have been scheduled, and he is expected to complete the assessment as soon as the coming hours. Thereafter, he will complete all the formalities to be announced as a new Chelsea player under Todd Boehly’s ownership.
Chelsea are also in negotiations with Leeds for Raphinha, and their offer has been accepted. However, the player prefers a move to Barcelona. Leeds are growing impatient now, and could end up selling to Chelsea if the Spanish side can’t match the Blues’ offer.
Alongside a new winger in Raheem Sterling, Chelsea are also expected to sign new centre-backs. Matthijs De Ligt, Jules Kounde and Dayot Upamecano are some of the names that have been linked. However, Nathan Ake is so far the most probable next signing for the West London side.
