Raheem Sterling has reportedly given Barcelona the green light for a potential move to Camp Nou. The England international has been linked with a switch to Spain for the last few weeks, and now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Sterling has agreed to the transfer if Barcelona come calling.
Ousmane Dembele, Sergio Aguero, Martin Braithwaite and Ansu Fati are struggling with injuries despite the teenager making his return recently. Sterling could make the move in the January transfer window when Barcelona will have the funds to sign a player.
Dani Olmo was the other name linked with Barcelona recently, and it seems that the RB Leipzig man will have to wait his turn since Barcelona are seemingly trying for Sterling first.
The Manchester City winger has seen a steep drop in game time after Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez have all stepped up to be better alternatives than him. As a result, he could end his stay at the Etihad soon, since he is yet to agree on a new deal with the club.
While Pep Guardiola was determined to snub any offers for the England star this summer, it seems like the Catalonian does not have the same opinion about Sterling anymore. The winger could be signed on an initial loan deal with the option to buy in the summer, which makes the most sense for Barcelona and Manchester City. Due to the lack of game time, Sterling could push to leave since he wants to start games regularly.
