Real Madrid can activate the buyback clause worth €25 million in 2026. If they don’t, the value will rise to €35 million in 2027. But, there’s a way Napoli can raise the buyback clause amount even further.
In 2025, the Azzurri can pay Real Madrid €10 million to double the buyback clause value to €50 million in 2026, and €70 million in 2027. This option is seemingly dependent on the club’s discretion, based on how he performs in his first season at the club.
Madrid’s intent to include a buyback clause valid till 2027 shows that they see Rafa Marin as a bright prospect for the future. They seem to have learned from the cases of Achraf Hakimi and Theo Hernandez, and are keen to have the option to bring the defender back in case he meets their standards in the future.
