Former Ajax and Netherlands striker Quincy Promes will be charged with Cocaine smuggling. Currently, a player for Spartak Moscow in Russia, Promes, is also charged with aggravated assault following new evidence in a shocking incident revealed.
Quincy Promes is to be charged with serious offences of Cocaine smuggling
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the respective weights of the two batches are approximately 650 kilos and 713 kg each. Towards the end of January 2020 end, they were seized in the Antwerp port.
The National Drug Monitor states that the parties would collectively account for close to 75 million euros on Amsterdam’s streets.
The former Ajax player was already suspected of being a part of drug trafficking and a part of the criminal gang. The preliminary hearing will be on the next Monday.
The Orange international plays for the Russian team Spartak Moscow. According to OM, if Quincy Promes chooses not to travel to the Netherlands, the issue can be handled by the court even without his presence but with a lawyer authorized by him. Robert Malevicz is Promes’ attorney and has denied any statement right now.
Under severe investigation
Quincy Promes is under serious investigation for severe violence in another incident. At a family gathering, he allegedly stabbed his cousin on the knee. Though he has sternly denied that, he confessed to the stabbing incident on a telephone call that the cops had bugged.
Justice had earlier suspected him of killing someone, but this is yet to be confirmed. The criminal case inquiry was renewed last March. The following Monday will have the final phase of the case.
