IPL 2021: Favourites among the Four Teams who have Qualified for Playoffs

The four qualifying teams were confirmed once again on the final day of the league stage of an Indian Premier League season.

The second-to-last match of the ongoing 14th season, in Abu Dhabi, between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, had the potential to decide the fourth and last position in the IPL 2021 playoffs.

Qualified Teams for Playoff

Following the likes of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Chennai Super Kings have qualified to the playoffs as the fourth team.

Delhi Capitals:

Delhi finished the league stage with a total of 20 points from 14 games, including ten victories. On Sunday, they will play Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 at Dubai International Stadium.

Shikhar Dhawan (544 runs) and Prithvi Shaw (401 runs) have been the best performers for Delhi in the batting department.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

The RCB, captained by Virat Kohli, finished the league stage with 18 points from 14 games. On October 11, they will meet Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator in Sharjah. CSK’s top performers this season have been Ruturaj Gaikwad (533 runs), Moeen Ali (304 runs and 5 wickets), Faf du Plessis (546 runs), and Deepak Chahar (13 wickets).

Chennai Super Kings: 

CSK, captained by MS Dhoni, finished second with 18 points from 14 games. CSK will face DC in Qualifier 1 on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium, as they finished in the top two.

RCB’s best performers in IPL 2020 have been Yuzvendra Chahal (16 wickets), Glenn Maxwell (498 runs and 3 wickets), Devdutt Padikkal (390 runs), and Harshal Patel (30 wickets).

Kolkata Knight Riders:

With 14 points in 14 games, Kolkata Knight Riders qualified for the playoffs as the fourth team. On October 11, KKR will meet Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator in Sharjah.

In IPL 2020, KKR’s star performers have been Rahul Tripathi (377 runs), Varun Chakravarthy (16 wickets), Shubman Gill (352 runs), and Venkatesh Iyer (239 runs).

October 10: Qualifier 1 between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings in Dubai

October 11: Eliminator between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah

October 13: Qualifier 2 between TBA and TBA in Sharjah

October 15: Final between TBA and TBA in Dubai
