While Qualcomm is unlikely to release a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, the company appears set to release the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 soon, with a new leak revealing when the sub-premium chipset will be available.
It’s needless to say how Qualcomm has changed its fortune by adopting newer TSMC nodes and its chips have stopped heating, which is again a reason why OEMs and smartphone makers are once again opting for their chips. So, we have got some info about the upcoming mid-range Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 and for Qualcomm fans, this is really good news.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 was released in May of last year, but it received little to no widespread adoption.
The upcoming SM7475 chipset will be built on TSMC’s 4 nm node, as opposed to the vanilla Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 which was built on a Samsung process.
AnTuTu recently discovered “SM7475,” or the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 processor, inside a Realme device. The realm phone with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 model number SM7475 scored 10,29,731 points on AnTuTu, which is comparable to or better than some Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 devices, but the specifications are not yet available.
Any other information about the smartphone or the chipset is unknown. More information may become available in the coming days.
