Qualcomm’s new event Highlights

It has not been confirmed what’s in store for the event. Still, cogitating the various reports, those two chipsets will likely launch at the Snapdragon Night event. Last year, they disclosed the new naming conventions for its chipsets, starting with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and now Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 would be the first 7-series chipset to endorse Qualcomm’s new naming convention.

A number of producers, including Motorola, Xiaomi and OnePlus and more, are anticipated to declare Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ powered smartphones in the upcoming months. As per reports, Motorola Frontier will be the first smartphone to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset.

Specifications and features

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, an addendum update to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, is apparently to be constructed on TSMC’s 4nm process node. The new chipset is anticipated to feature a Cortex-X2 prime core, 3x Cortex A710 performance cores, and 4x Cortex A510 efficiency cores.

As per reports, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ would give a 10% increase in CPU performance and a small development in GPU prowess compared to the former. Further, a switch to TSMC’s 4nm fabrication is anticipated to give better thermal performance than Samsung’s 4nm process node used for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

As per reports, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 would feature 4x ARM Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and 4x ARM Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. And it is anticipated to come with the Adreno 662 graphics unit.
