Pushpa 2: The Rule Details
Directed by Sukumar, “Pushpa 2: The Rule” features Allu, Rashmika, and Fahadh reprising their respective roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Joining them are Jagapathi Babu, Brahmaji, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and others in supporting roles. Serving as a sequel to the 2021 hit “Pushpa: The Rise,” the film is set to hit screens on August 15 this year.
In celebration of Allu’s birthday, the makers unveiled a special teaser showcasing him adorned in a jatara getup in Mathangi vesham. This attire was initially revealed on his birthday last year, along with a teaser titled ‘Where is Pushpa?’ hinting at the character’s transformative journey and newfound popularity. As the film’s release draws closer, fans can anticipate more updates from the production team in the coming days.
The highly anticipated teaser for Sukumar’s “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, was unveiled on the actor’s birthday on April 8. While the teaser was packed with action showcasing Allu’s charisma as Pushpa Raj, what stole the spotlight was his unique attire – a saree.
Allu Arjun’s Appearance
The teaser depicts a vibrant jatara (temple festival) scene bustling with devotees chanting hymns to a Goddess. In this setting, Allu’s character emerges, donning an androgynous ensemble that blends elements of both masculinity and femininity. Despite his rugged long hair and beard exuding masculinity, there’s a distinct femininity in the way he gracefully adjusts his saree at the ankle and delicately lines his eyes with kohl. Adorned in a blue pattu saree, complemented by jhumkas, ghungroo, bangles, a nose pin, and other ornaments, Allu’s character seamlessly intertwines traditional feminine attire with his assertive persona, even while confronting adversaries.
The blue body paint adorning Allu Arjun’s character in the scene signifies his portrayal of the Mathangi vesham (avatar). This attire is traditionally worn by individuals, regardless of gender, during the sixth day of the Gangamma Thalli jatara in Tirupathi. Interestingly, the song “Daakko Daakko Meka” from “Pushpa: The Rise” makes a reference to this jatara in its lyrics. Sukumar’s decision to incorporate this cultural element into the narrative highlights Pushpa Raj’s roots in Chittoor, showcasing authenticity to the region’s traditions and essence.
According to sources, the scenes depicting the Gangamma Thalli jatara will play a pivotal role in the film. The teaser already hints at a significant confrontation during the jatara, and it’s rumored that a song featuring Allu Arjun will be filmed in this setting, further enriching the storyline with cultural depth and significance.
