This International Women’s Day, the Indian Premier League franchise Punjab Kings, led by KPH Dream Cricket Limited, announced a ground-breaking partnership with the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation and M3M Foundation. Their mission? To empower girls through education and skill development.
Punjab Kings announces partnership with Shikhar Dhawan Foundation & M3M Foundation to promote girl child education initiative
The collaboration is an innovative blend of sports and social responsibility, with the Punjab Kings playing a pivotal role in amplifying the initiative backed by the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation (SDF) and M3M Foundation.
At the heart of this alliance is a unique scholarship program. For every 25 runs scored or 3 wickets taken by the Punjab Kings during their home games, the M3M Foundation, in collaboration with SDF, pledges to support vocational education for one girl child. The goal is to provide educational aid to 111 deserving girls, allotting up to Rs. 5 Lakhs per girl, culminating in a total expenditure of Rs. 5.55 crore over the next five years.
This scholarship aims to uplift girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by funding their higher vocational training. By doing so, it fosters financial independence and shapes their future. The funds will cover the girls’ education from the undergraduate level until graduation, irrespective of their field of study.
