With an eye-catching photoshoot showcasing the cricketers in fierce, confident poses, the campaign shines a spotlight on their record-breaking performances. In addition to Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh, the lineup includes Sajana Sajeevan, Hemalatha Dayalan, and Asha Sobhana, all proving that the true spirit of cricket is gender-neutral.
Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian Cricket Team and PUMA ambassador, commented on the campaign:
“There’s no denying cricket has historically been a male-dominated sport, but we women are fiercely changing that perception. PUMA’s Cricket Is Everyone’s Game campaign hit home, and this fresh take reminds everyone that cricket is about having the guts and glory to face each ball. We’re here to change the conversation.”
The campaign highlights some incredible milestones:
- Harmanpreet Kaur‘s legendary knock of 171 runs in just 115 balls against Australia in 2017.
- Richa Ghosh smashing a record-breaking 64 in 29 balls, making her the highest-scoring wicketkeeper-batter against UAE in 2024.
- Asha Sobhana’s 4-wicket haul with 52 balls during her stunning debut against South Africa in 2024.
- Hemalatha Dayalan’s unbeaten 41 off 24 balls that led to a thrilling victory over Bangladesh in 2024.
- Sajana Sajeevan clinching a win with a match-winning six on her first ball in Bengaluru, 2024.
Richa Ghosh added, “Every ball presents a new challenge, and it’s all about how you handle it. Whether you’re behind the stumps or facing the bowler, it takes courage to ace the game. I’m proud to be part of such a historic campaign with PUMA.”
PUMA India’s campaign breaks away from outdated gender norms and focuses on the raw talent, hard work, and resilience of women cricketers. The brand has been a staunch advocate of how cricket is not just a gentlemen’s game, continuously making efforts to shatter gender biases and support women in sports.
Karthik Balagopalan, Managing Director of PUMA India, expressed:
“At PUMA India, we’ve always championed the belief that Cricket Is Everyone’s Game. This campaign accelerates that message, led by our incredible cricketers Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh. Sport is for all, and PUMA will continue to drive change and inspire the next generation of athletes.”
With a robust lineup of ambassadors, including the likes of Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, and MC Mary Kom, PUMA continues to lead the charge in promoting inclusivity in sports, creating waves in both the men’s and women’s sporting worlds.
