Paris Saint-Germain have sent an official proposal to Lyon for the signing of Rayan Cherki. Their offer is worth €15 million including all add-ons, although the player is valued at €25 million on Transfermarkt. The lower valuation is explained by the fact that he only has one year remaining on his deal.

If Lyon don’t sell Cherki this summer, they run the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer. However, they have already rejected the opening offer as they want a significant sell-on clause included in the deal.

PSG make Rayan Cherki approach with contract running out in 2025

This past season, Cherki scored three goals and provided nine assists in 39 games across all competitions. A solid return, having played a little over 2,000 minutes of football.

Rayan Cherki’s two-footedness allows him to play anywhere across an attacking midfield role. While he is primarily deployed through the centre, he has played as both a left and right sided wide midfielder for Lyon. There was interest in the 20-year-old from Chelsea last summer, but a move never materialised. This summer, though, his contract situation might dictate the transfer saga.

Luis Enrique has already called the player to persuade him about the project, and PSG are expected to make another offer in the coming days. Should he make the move, Cherki would reunite with former Lyon teammate Bradley Barcola, who also made the move to the French capital last summer.
